FAQs about P600
What is P600 sandpaper used for?
Paint preparation: Keying paint for a perfect finish before the top coat. Typical for Car & paint, Plastic, Primer.
Is P600 coarse or fine?
P600 belongs to the very fine range (P500 to P1000): keying paint. The higher the number, the finer the grit.
Which grit comes after P600?
After P600 comes P800. Never more than double the number per step – that way the finer grit removes the scratches of the coarser one.
Should P600 be used wet or dry?
Dry, with dust extraction – up to about P600 that is the standard today: faster, and no water in the metal or wood. Mesh discs and multi-hole patterns stop P600 from clogging.
Which grit comes before P600?
Before P600, sand with P400 (or finer). Jump straight to P600 from too coarse a grit and you won't get the scratches out.
