FAQs about P240
What is P240 sandpaper used for?
Fine sanding wood: Preparing for primer, fine sanding wood, smoothing metal. Typical for Car & paint, Wood, Metal, Plastic, Body filler.
Is P240 coarse or fine?
P240 belongs to the fine range (P220 to P400): smoothing and preparing. The higher the number, the finer the grit.
Which grit comes after P240?
After P240 comes P320. Never more than double the number per step – that way the finer grit removes the scratches of the coarser one.
Should P240 be used wet or dry?
Dry, with dust extraction – up to about P600 that is the standard today: faster, and no water in the metal or wood. Mesh discs and multi-hole patterns stop P240 from clogging.
Which grit comes before P240?
Before P240, sand with P180 (or finer). Jump straight to P240 from too coarse a grit and you won't get the scratches out.
