FAQs about P3000
What is P3000 sandpaper used for?
Polish preparation: Right before polishing – hologram-free. Typical for Car & paint.
Is P3000 coarse or fine?
P3000 belongs to the ultra-fine range (P1200 to P5000): finish before polishing. The higher the number, the finer the grit.
Which grit comes after P3000?
After P3000 you polish: the scratches are so fine that the polish takes them out.
Should P3000 be used wet or dry?
On paint usually wet: from P800 the water cools, flushes away the swarf and makes the scratch pattern finer and more even. Use waterproof sheets or film discs for this – paper goes soft. P3000 also works dry with dust extraction, but clogs faster.
Which grit comes before P3000?
Before P3000, sand with P2000 (or finer). Jump straight to P3000 from too coarse a grit and you won't get the scratches out.
